Who We Are
Nature Coast Kayak Tours was built on the philosophy that wild animals
should remain wild and should not be fed or tamed just to ensure a 'wild
encounter' for the entertainment of humans.  Each day is a struggle for
survival for every wild animal and we should strive to have as little impact
as possible as we view them in their natural habitat.   Passive observation
is the best way to view wildlife and Interaction with wild animals should
never be attempted.

Kayaking can be an eco-friendly way to view wildlife and enjoy nature
without causing undue stress to animals or the environment.  Your guide
understands and abides by this philosophy and strives to ensure you have
an enjoyable and positive experience that you will remember for a long
time.
About Us

Tracy Colson is a native of Crystal River, Florida and has spent
much of her  life in the woods and on the waters of the "Nature Coast".
She has combined her love of nature and animals with the joy of
kayaking in an effort to pass along to others the appreciation and
respect she has for the natural world.  A self-taught naturalist, Tracy
shares information about the unique plants and wildlife of the area as
well as some of the local history.

Tracy has a special fondness for the area's manatees and has
made education an important part of her manatee tours.  She
volunteers for the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge and assists
with rescues of sick or injured manatees.  Tracy was presented with
the "Manatee Hero Award" by the Save the Manatee Club for her work
to end harassment of these gentle and defenseless giants.  Tracy is
an avid photographer and videographer and often documents the
behaviors and personalities of the manatees and other wildlife she
encounters.
